About Carver
Carver was founded in 1954 in Milwaukee by Charlie Carter and George Verhagen, who built mahogany runabouts and joined parts of their surnames to name the company. They moved to Pulaski, Wisconsin, in 1956, and Carver switched to fiberglass during the 1970s. It later became part of Genmar Holdings, and after Genmar's bankruptcy, Carver and its sister brand Marquis were bought by an investor group and became part of the Marquis-Larson Boat Group.
Carver built its name on cabin cruisers and motor yachts, especially aft-cabin models. The Pulaski plant closed in summer 2021, and the buildings were later bought by the parent company of Cruisers Yachts, so every Carver for sale is a used boat and no new models are being built. As with any brand that is no longer in production, buyers should confirm parts availability for the specific model and give the survey extra attention.
