About Cruisers Yachts
Cruisers began in 1953 in Oconto, Wisconsin, on the shore of Green Bay, when members of the Thompson boatbuilding family set up Cruisers Inc. in a former lumber mill. It moved from wooden lapstrake boats to fiberglass in 1965 and went through several owners before K.C. Stock's KCS International bought it in 1993 and renamed it Cruisers Yachts. MarineMax, the boat retailer, acquired the company in 2021.
Cruisers builds sport coupes, express cruisers and flybridge models, currently from about 34 to 60 feet, and the Cantius line, introduced in 2011, is its best-known recent series. In 2021 the company added a large second plant in nearby Pulaski. On the used market, Cruisers range from older express cruisers to recent Cantius and GLS models, and the drive system and its service history are among the first things to check.
