About Freeman
Freeman Boatworks was started in 2007 by Billy Freeman, an offshore angler who wanted a boat that could make the run from Charleston to the Gulf Stream without the pounding the monohulls and cats of the day handed out. He spent about a year on the prototype in his garage, and the Freeman 33 that came out of it is the boat the whole range still descends from.
They are dedicated fishing machines rather than cruising boats, and the catamaran hull is the entire point: the ride offshore in a sea that would turn a deep-vee back is what owners pay for. Sizes run from 28 feet to the Signature 56. Demand consistently outstrips supply, which is why used ones hold their money unusually well - and why the engine package and hours matter more than usual when comparing two.
