About Galeon
Galeon was founded in 1982 by the Kobylko family at Straszyn near Gdańsk, and is still family owned. It employs over 1,500 people across two yards, Straszyn and Wiślina, and builds more than 200 boats a year from roughly 30 to 80 feet - the second largest Polish builder by turnover, and increasingly present in the United States.
The boats are known for what they do at anchor. Working with Tony Castro, Galeon built its reputation on transforming cockpits and hull sides that fold out into balconies, which turns a mid-size flybridge into something with the deck space of a much larger boat. Buyers either want exactly that or do not; those who do find nothing else quite equivalent at the size.
