About Nor-Tech
Trond Schou and Nils Johnsen were friends in Norway with a shared obsession for fast cars and fast boats. They started Nor-Tech in 1990, brought the moulds with them to Florida in 1992, and built the first prototype at Fort Myers - a 50-foot V-bottom, the 5000. They still run the company.
The range now goes from 34 to 80 feet: performance catamarans, V-bottoms and the center consoles that have become the volume of the business. What makes a Nor-Tech a Nor-Tech is that the center consoles are built on genuine race-derived hulls, so a 45-footer with quad or quint outboards will run into the high sixties and still handle a Gulf Stream chop. They are heavily customised from the factory, so on the brokerage market read the rigging and power package before the model name, and expect a well-sorted one to hold value strongly.
